Time poem dedicated to Madonna

This was the first poem that I wrote in creative writing, and it had to do with time somehow. When my teacher assigned it to us, the first thing I thought of was Madonna's song "Hung UP", that opens with the lines time goes by so slowly. This phrase has always annoyed me, because time to me generally goes by REALLLLLY fast. I wrote this poem on that premise, and thought about some of the most special times in my life, and reflected on how they are totally gone. I think I could have made this poem a little more "poetic," but at the time it felt just right.

Time
Goes by
So
s l o w l y.
no Madonna it Doesn’t.
i notice that as I grow older
the days fly past my youthful face.
time is a roller coaster-
but it doesn’t loop
            back.
i yearn to see the past
 but
it’s gone.
the moments I cherished most swam away
and time stops for no one.
i can’t go back to the days where i
sun bathed at Snow Creek
or drove to Washington feeling like a pioneer.
not even when I climbed Half Dome-
oh, How I love Vernal falls.
So, no Madonna- Time does not go by
