If you're wondering what my blog title means

This poem was assigned in creative writing, the objective was to write a poem from the perspective of someone who doesn't speak. I chose to write a poem about my loyal jack russell terrier, Lola. Lola has been in my life since kindergarten, and although she barks a hell of a lot, I love her so much. I also decided to name my blog after her, because she is such a key component of my life!! Love that daaaaaaaaaaawg.

Life according to Lola

Are you joking me?

You close the door

open the door

And still won't take me on a walk?

All I want to do is run freely

without my leash in the openspace

I want to prance in the mud and act like a mountain lion

not a little Jack Russell, I'm secretly cryin'.

Why must you scold me

When I leave lovely presents on the doorstep?

It was only a malicious mouse

or a sneaky squirrel outside

MY house.

And WHY do the neighbors complain

when I stay outside, and bark at the deer past midnight,

it's MY soil. I want to play with the big dogs and be wild.

Stop treating me like a child.

And Mom, stop dressing me in itchy sweaters

I swear, if i could, I would write Petco some letters

for selling you those awful things,

and trying to dress me up like some kind of queen.

But even though you try to pick me up and I bite

I always will love my family,

If someone came at you guys I would fight.

You guys feed me some awesome brown food

and cuddle with me when I'm in a nasty mood.
